Protesters from the Reform California organization rallied outside the offices of State Senator Tom Umberg (D-Garden Grove) on Monday to express their opposition to a proposal by Gov. Gavin Newsom to impose a “water tax.” Under his plan, water customers could be charged an extra 95 cents to $10 a month to raise $140 million to improve water safety and quality in California.
The demonstrators gathered outside the senator’s office at the corner of Main Street and Garden Grove Boulevard in Garden Grove and carried signs reading “Down with the Water Tax” and “Taxed 2 Much Already.”
