Shop local program get some boosts

BUY IN GARDEN GROVE seeks to keep tax dollars in town (City of GG photo).

The City of Garden Grove’s shop local program, Buy in Garden Grove (BiGG), is undergoing enhancements intended to provide greater benefits to shoppers and businesses. Over 100 local businesses currently participate in BiGG, with new businesses invited to sign up for free at ggcity.org/bigg.

Participating businesses receive a number of benefits, including free promotion on the city’s website and social media.

To participate, businesses must be located in Garden Grove, have a valid business license, and offer a discount or shopper incentive. Businesses may also partner with another local establishment to offer combined packages, such as a movie and dinner package.

The new BiGG program will launch in June 2019 and be available at ggcity.org.

For the last 10 years, the City’s shop local program has helped keep needed tax dollars in the community, which is a resource for providing public safety, roads, parks, and other quality-of-life needs. BiGG also supports the local business community by increasing visibility and patronage to their establishments.
