Changing of the guard
A couple of announced switches in high school sports in The Tribune’s coverage area.
- Sydney Gandy, a star for the Los Alamitos High girls’ basketball team, will be transferring to Orangewood Academy in Garden Grove. The guard will be starting her college career at the University of Idaho.
- Ken Franks, the long-time boys’ basketball coach at Garden Grove High School will be stepping down after 22 years with the Argonaut program. Stepping into that spot will be Brian Girard, the former assistant coach.
