88-year-old woman succumbs to injuries

AN 88-YEAR-OLD woman died this weekend from injuries sustained in a Aug. 24 car crash in Huntington Beach crash (Shutterstock).

An 88-old-year woman who was injured in a traffic accident in Huntington Beach on Aug. 24 has died, according to police.

The woman – not identified by authorities – succumbed to her injuries on Monday (Sept. 2), according to Motor Sgt. Erik Warken of the HBPD.

The accident took place around 1:39 p.m. in the area of Beach Boulevard and Cypress Drive and involved a 27-year-old woman from Los Angeles driving a 2015 Mini Cooper and the elderly woman from Fountain Valley driving a 2007 Toyota Camry. The latter reported pain in her neck and back and was taken to Huntington Beach Hospital.

Warehouse fire knocked down in Stanton

Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority and Anaheim Fire and Rescue put out a fire Sunday at an automotive warehouse in Stanton.

The blaze was in the 8000 block of Katella Ave.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Apartment units before GG commission

A proposed site plan to tear down a single-story home and detached structures and replace them with four new two-story apartment units goes before the Garden Grove Planning Commission on Thursday.

The project is at 12931 Louise St. and Garden Grove Blvd. The council meets at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at 11300 Stanford Ave.
