FIREFIGHTERS work to extricate a motorist from a vehicle after a traffic accident in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Brookhurst Street in Huntington Beach on Thursday afternoon (HBFD photo).

Three people were injured in a traffic accident Thursday afternoon in Huntington Beach.

According to the HB Fire Department, the crash occurred at around 4:48 p.m. in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Brookhurst Street, just west of the city limit

Two people were taken to local trauma centers and a third was extricated from a vehicle by firefighters. Four HBFD units were called to handle the situation.
