Garden Grove police on Saturday night arrested a suspect who was allegedly stealing copper from a firm in the west side of the city.
According to the GGPD, the man arrested was identified as Sean Mastrantuono, 46, a transient who frequents Garden Grove.
Police were called to the area of Orangewood Avenue and Knott Street at 9:50 p.m. regarding a “suspicious person.” Upon arriving, the incident was upgraded by officers to a burglary in progress.
A perimeter was established and a man was seen leaving a business through the rear door. He was allegedly holding a large copper pipe police say had been stripped from the buildings. He was arrested.
Police say that Mastrantuono has multiple prior arrests for burglary, theft and drug possession.
