Motorcyclist, 31, is dead after collision

A 31-YEAR-OLD Mission Viejo man died after a traffic collision Wednesday afternoon in Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).

A 31-year-old motorcycle rider from Mission Viejo died Wednesday night in Huntington Beach after colliding with a pickup truck.

According to Master Sgt. Mike Szyperski, the incident took place around 5:13 p.m. in the area of Slater Avenue and Morgan Lane. The cycle was found wedged under the left rear truck tire.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by Huntington Beach Fire Department paramedics. The rider did not have a motorcyclist license.

The other vehicle, a 2014 silver Chevy Silverado, was driven by a 71-year-old Huntington Beach man. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
