A presentation by the Orange County Transportation Authority on the Beach Boulevard Corridor Study is featured on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.
The route, also known as Highway 39, in Orange County runs from La Habra in the north through Stanton all the way to Huntington Beach. The OCTA is studying plans to turn that street into a “cohesive modern transportation facility” along its 21-mile length. Potentially affected are La Habra, La Mirada (in Los Angeles County), Buena Park, Anaheim, Stanton, Garden Grove, Westminster and Huntington Beach.
A survey by OCTA done in May 2019 revealed that 83 percent of respondents listed congestion as the main problem, with 55 percent citing long waits at traffic signals and delays from turning vehicles.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
