
A LOAN for the construction of 43 senior housing units at Beach and Ellis was approved by the Huntington Beach City Council on Monday night (Shutterstock).
An agreement to build 43 new senior citizen apartments on Beach Boulevard was approved by the Huntington Beach City Council Monday night.
The council voted 6-0 (with Mayor Erik Peterson absent) to appropriate $3 million in housing funds as a loan to Beach Housing Partners to construct the project at 18431 Beach Blvd. (at Ellis Avenue). The loan agreement remains to be finalized by the city manager and city attorney.
Also Monday night, the council voted 6-0 (with Peterson absent) to appoint Marie Knight to the new position of director of organizational learning and engagement. She had previously served as director of community services for the city.
Christopher Slama was appointed to take her position with community services.
The next meeting of the council is set for Monday, Nov. 18.
