This year, Garden Grove has two ambassadors.
At a recent pageant at Bell Intermediate School in Garden Grove, Raena Ramirez was crowned Miss Garden Grove for 2020, and Monica Waldau has a brand new title, Miss Strawberry Grove 2020.
Both contests are official local preliminaries to the Miss California and Miss America competitions. Each winner was awarded a $1000 scholarship.
The Miss Strawberry Grove title was created because the Outstanding Teen pageant is on a break this year.
Ramirez attended Golden West College, California State University, Long Beach and UC Irvine. Her goal is to obtain a Ph.D. in psychology and become a sports psychologist.
She was sponsored by Rotary Club of Garden Grove. This is her second term as Miss Garden Grove, having also been crowned in 2016.
Waldau attended CSU Long Beach and holds a B.S. in science, marketing and management. Her goal is to get an MBA and become a CEO. She was sponsored by Widdicomb Family Enterprises (McDonald’s).
