Northbound Magnolia Street, from Imperial Avenue to Cannery Street in Garden Grove will be closed for a storm drain project beginning Monday, Jan. 6, through February.
Work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. During non-working hours, Magnolia Street, from Imperial Avenue to Cannery Street, will be reduced to one lane. There will be no parking allowed in the construction zone. Access to residences along the construction area will be maintained at all times. Detour signs will be posted.
The improvements consist of constructing a new storm drain line, striping, junction structures and catch basins, relocating an existing water and sewer main, roadway resurfacing, and various concrete improvements, with minor amounts of irrigation and landscaping.
The storm drain improvement is included in the city’s fiscal year 2019-2020 capital improvement budget and is funded by gas tax and drainage fee funds.
