Pedestrian killed walking along PCH

A PEDESTRIAN died in Huntington Beach Thursday evening after being struck by a truck (Shutterstock).

A 30-year-old man died late Thursday evening after he was struck by a truck while walking along a street in Huntington Beach.

According to Motor Sgt. Eric Warken of the HBPD, the incident took place around 11:09 p.m.. in the area of Pacific Coast Highway north of Magnolia Street. Arriving officers found the man on the shoulder of the highway. He was unresponsive and officers attempted CPR until medical personnel arrived, but the man had suffered major internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pedestrian had been evidently been struck by a 2019 Dodge Durango, which had sustained front end damage. The driver, a 52-year-old man from Toronto in Canada remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Three passengers in the truck were uninjured.
