One dead, one hurt in an auto crash

ONE WOMAN was killed and one seriously injured in a two-car crash Friday afternoon in Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).

One elderly woman is dead and another in stable condition after a traffic collision in Huntington Beach Friday afternoon.

According to HBPD Motor Sgt. Joshua Page, the crash took place around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Ash Lane, west of Beach Boulevard.

Arriving officers found a 1997 red Saturn, which had been driven by a  94-year-old woman from Huntington Beach, and a silver 2004 Mercedes Benz driven by an 84-year-old Santa Ana woman.

Both women suffered serious injuries and were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where the 94-year-old woman was pronounced dead. The other driver was in stable condition.

Investigators are looking into the collision and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact HBPD Traffic Investigator Daniel Kim at (714) 536-5666.
