High school wrestling coach arrested

A 30-YEAR-OLD walk-on wrestling coach at Marina High School was arrested Friday on a charge of having unlawful sex with a minor (Shutterstock).

A 30-year-old walk-on wrestling coach at Marina High School in Huntington Beach was arrested Friday (today) for having an “alleged inappropriate sexual relationship” with a student at MHS.

According to Capt. Tim Martin, HBPD officers arrested Kevin Rayford of Seal Beach for unlawful sexual acts with a minor. He was booked into Huntington Beach Jail.

“Marina High School staff and [Huntington Beach Union High] district staff acted swiftly in notifying us of the allegations against Rayford and are fully cooperating with the investigation,” said Martin. “At this time the investigation into this case is still ongoing and no further details will be released.”
