Bicyclist dead after collision with car

A BICYCLIST died after his bike collided with an SUV Wednesday night in Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).

A bicyclist died Wednesday night after a collision with an automobile in Huntington Beach.

According to Motor Sgt. Erik Warken of the HBPD, the incident took place around 7:58 p.m. in the area of Yorktown Avenue and Vasile Circle, east of Beach Boulevard.

Arriving officers found a man lying in the roadway. He was unresponsive. He succumbed to “major internal injuries” and was pronounced dead.

A silver 2016 Honda Pilot was parked nearby. It had sustained front end damage. The driver, a 46-year-old woman from Huntington Beach, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
