The rate of climb in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Orange County has dropped.
A total of 656 total cases of the virus are in today’s (Thursday) count, an increase of 56 new cases. But on Wednesday, the spike was nearly twice that at 107, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Health officials caution that day-to-day changes may not reflect a change in the overall situation.
Cumulative deaths to date in Orange County stand at 13, with three today. A total of 115 people are hospitalized, with 47 persons in intensive care units.
In the city-by-city list, those communities with the most cases are:
- Irvine: 65
- Anaheim: 60
- Newport Beach: 48
- Huntington Beach: 44
- Santa Ana: 40.

- Huntington Beach: 44 (up five).
- Garden Grove: 15 (up three).
- Westminster: 7 (no change).
- Stanton: 1 (no change).
