
EIGHT POSITIONS – seven full-time and one part-time – were cut Tuesday night by the Ocean View School District’s Board of Trustees (Shutterstock).
Eight employee positions were eliminated by the Ocean View School District Board of Trustees at its meeting Tuesday night.
The board voted 5-0 to eliminate six bus driver jobs and one lead mechanic post, and one part-time “certificated” – faculty or other teaching support – position for a total savings of $340,134 as part of the district’s Fiscal Stabilization Plan.
Also Tuesday night the school board approved a resolution in favor of “Week of the Employee,” honoring OVSD certificated, classified and administrative staff.
The Ocean View School District is a K-8 public school system serving northern Huntington Beach as well as parts of Fountain Valley, Midway City and Westminster.
