
SCHOOL FIELDS in the Ocean View School District are now open for recreational use from 4-8 p.m. weekdays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays (Flickr).

The Ocean View School District announced on Monday that its school fields were now open again for recreational use.
Hours will be 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and all day Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
The OVSD is a K-8 public school system serving the northern part of Huntington Beach and portions of adjacent cities.
The district has 10 elementary school campuses, and four middle schools.
Gunman disarmed in Santa Ana
A man with a pistol was arrested after an incident Monday evening at a hotel in Santa Ana.
According to the SAPD, officers were sent to the Red Roof Inn at 2600 N. Main St. on a report of a man armed with a handgun who had allegedly pointed it at the victim.
The man was arrested and the loaded firearm was recovered from the suspect’s waistband.
Three students honored by colleges
Three area students have received honors from their college or university. They are:
- Alex Perez of Garden Grove has been award a B.A. degree from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.
- Jack O’Donnell of Huntington Beach was named to the president’s list for the spring term at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
- Kelli Van Dam of Garden Grove was named to the dean’s list for the spring term at the University of New England in Portland, Maine.
