New coronavirus cases drop to 100

WASHING your hands frequently is still a good idea, even with Tuesday’s sharp decline in new confirmed cases in Orange County (Pixels).

Three more deaths and 100 new confirmed coronavirus cases were noted in Tuesday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency.

The number of new cases was down sharply from Monday’s total of 213. The new cumulative total cases is now at 6,574, while the total number of fatalities is at 150, of which 63 are residents of skilled nursing facilities.

Countywide, 136,098 tests have been conducted, with 1,566 tests in Tuesday’s report. Two hundred forty cases are hospitalized, of which 97 are in intensive care units.

Cumulatively, 2,695 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

Santa Ana has the most confirmed cases with 1,267. Anaheim has 1,120, followed by Garden Grove with 352, Huntington Beach with 348 and Orange with 289. Westminster has 138 and Stanton 81.
