Coronavirus cases in large drop

ON SUNDAY, 119 new confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were reported for Orange County (Flickr/Prachatai).

Sunday’s count of new confirmed new coronavirus cases showed a large drop from Saturday’s sharp increase.

According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, 119 new cases were reported, compared to 296 on Saturday.  That brings the cumulative total of cases to 7,440.

One new death was reported, bringing that total to 177.

Two hundred ninety seven people are hospitalized with COVID-19, with 129 in intensive care units.

The city counts have Santa Ana with 1,464 cases (up by 30 from previous day), followed by Anaheim with 1,311 (up by 14), Garden Grove with 415 (up by six), Huntington Beach with 367 (up by two) and Orange with 324 (up by four).

Westminster had 169 (up by five) and Stanton 90 (up by two).
