New coronavirus cases at 260

Confirmed new coronavirus cases have hit their third-highest level since counting began, according to Thursday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency.

The total was 260 cases, topped only by 290 cases on June 5 and 270 on June 6. The new total in cases to date is 7,987, of which 846 are residents of skilled nursing facilities and 385 are inmates of Orange County jails.

Judged to have recovered are 3,726.

Four deaths were announced, raising that total to 202 fatalities from COVID-19.

According to the OCHCA, there have been 172,072 tests for coronavirus to date; 1,831 were noted in Thursday’s report.

Two hundreds ninety-four cases were hospitalized, of which 142 are in intensive care units.

The city count has Santa Ana with 1,716 cases, followed by Anaheim with 1,482, Garden Grove with 442, Huntington Beach with 404 and Orange with 367.

Westminster had 178 cases and Stanton 92.
