An indoor playground and arcade won the approval of the Garden Grove Planning Commission Thursday night.
The panel voted 7-0 to approve Little World, which will occupy a now-vacant 14,000-square foot space to the west of the Regal 16 movie complex in The Promenade shopping center at Chapman Avenue and Brookhurst Street. The space was formerly the site of Factory 2 You, a discount clothing store.
Also approved for The Promenade was the construction of a new 4,200-square foot one-story bank building for Citibank. It will face Chapman and be located next to the See’s Candies. The vote was also 7-0.
A request to allow a change in operating hours and parking lot size for the MAP indoor sports facility at Western Avenue and Lampson Avenue was continued to the meeting of Sept. 17.
The operator was asking for a change in hours from the current conditional use permit of 5-10 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends, to 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
However, it was reported that the operator was in violation of the existing permit by being open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A second consideration of the request would come in September if the operator demonstrated compliance with the existing permit.
