The second-highest number of new confirmed coronavirus cases since counting began was noted in Friday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency.
According to the OCHCA, 288 cases were reported, up from 131 for Thursday and just nine less than the previous high of 297 on June 14. Of these numbers, 4,591 are considered to be recovered.
Seven new deaths were also reporting, making the new total 257, of which 129 were from skilled nursing facilities.
Three hundred thirty-six cases of COVID-19 are now hospitalized, with 142 in intensive care units.
The city count show Santa Ana with the most cases at 2,055 (up by 61), followed by Anaheim with 1,839 (up by 55), Garden Grove with 546 (up by four), Huntington Beach with 463 (up by eight) and Orange with 417 (up by 11).
Westminster has 205 (up by two) and Stanton with 121 (up by 10).
