Police investigate SA stab death

SANTA ANA police are investigating an apparent stabbing death Sunday afternoon (Shutterstock).

Santa Ana police are investigating the death of a man fatally stabbed on Sunday afternoon.

According to the SAPD, at 5:07 p.m. officers were called to assist the Orange County Fire Authority with a man down in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the 4100 block of West 5th Street. That’s between Newhope Street and Harbor Boulevard.

Arriving officers found an adult male – as yet not indentified – suffering “apparent stab wounds.” The man was treated for his wounds by officers and OCFA paramedics before being taken to a local trauma center. He was pronounced dead there at 5:40 p.m.

Witnesses told police of a violent encounter between two suspects and the victim. The motive for the attack is unknown. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the SAPD’s homicide section at (714) 245-8390.
