Coronavirus case count up to 713

THE CORONAVIRUS daily report on Friday showed 713 new cases (Shutterstock).

The count of new confirmed COVID-19 cases for Orange County on Friday is 713, up from 652 the day before.

According to the county health care agency, the cumulative number of cases to date now stands at 15,778. Of that total, 1,208 are residents of skilled nursing facilities, 406 are inmates of county jails and 108 are homeless persons. It’s estimated that 8,075 are judged to have recovered.

Six deaths were reported to the OCHCA for the latest count, bringing that total to 360. From that number, 184 are residents of skilled nursing facilities, 14 are from assisted living facilities and two homeless persons.

The “positivity” rate of people tested who are considered to have contracted the virus is at 12.9 percent, above the threshold of 8 percent. The change in the three-day average of hospitalized patients is at 13.1 percent vs. the threshold of 10 percent.

A cities count shows Santa Ana with 3,166 cases and 95 deaths. Following are Anaheim with 2,925 cases and 87 cases, Garden Grove with 862 and 10, Huntington Beach with 754 and 40 and Orange with 712 and 15.

Westminster has 312 cases and 10 deaths. Stanton has 188 and three deaths.
