The number of new coronavirus cased reported to the Orange County Health Care Agency rose mildly on Monday, but is still below the average levels of recent days.
The OCHCA shows 560 cases today, up from 415 on Sunday, but below 702 on Saturday and 682 on Friday. The cumulative OC total is now at 29,986. One death was in Monday’s report, bringing that sum to 493.
Six hundred sixty-six cases of COVID-19 are now hospitalized, with 213 in intensive care units.
The test positivity metric showed improvement, dropping from 13.7 percent to 13.2. That’s the measure of how many people checked for coronavirus turn out test “positive” for the infection.
Monday’s count for the top five cities with cases follows. Deaths are in parentheses.
- Santa Ana: 5,610 (130).
- Anaheim: 5,134 (123).
- Garden Grove: 1,552 (14).
- Huntington Beach: 1,462 (43).
- Orange: 1,376 (17).
Westminster has 552 cases and 12 deaths; Stanton has 349 cases and four deaths.
