Sunday’s COVID case count: 558

Sunday’s report on the daily cases of new COVID-19 in Orange County shows 558, bringing the cumulative total to 37,391, of which 24,59 are considered recovered.

Saturday’s one-day figure was 637.

Two additional deaths were reported, making the total 651, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.

The OCHCA also reported that 554 coronavirus cases are hospitalized, with 171 in intensive care units.

Test positivity, which indicates what portion of those tested are considered “positive” for the infection, is at 9.1 percent. That’s down from 9.2 percent on Saturday and 9.3 on Friday.

The rate of new hospitalizations is a minus-8.9 percent.

Here’s a list of the OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 7,119 (173).
  • Anaheim: 6,389 (158).
  • Garden Grove: 1,982 (25)
  • Huntington Beach: 1,718 (46).
  • Orange: 1,706 (26).

Westminster has 679 cases and 18 deaths; Stanton has 438 cases and six deaths.
