The placement of a measure to extend a 1 percent sales tax increase approved by voters in 2016 and increase it to 1.5 percent will go before a special meeting of the Westminster City Council on Monday.
Meeting through a Zoom “web conference,” the council will convene at 1 p.m. for the purpose of putting the matter before the electorate on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The proposed transaction and use tax is termed “Westminster Emergency Relief, Recovery, Local Services,” and – unlike the 2016 measure – wouldn’t expire until “ended by voters.”
