Police are searching for two suspects in an attempted homicide and carjacking Saturday afternoon in Garden Grove.
According to Sgt. Charlie Loffler of the GGPD, the incident took place around 2:30 p.m. in the area of the 11500 block of Stuart Drive. That’s south of Garden Grove Boulevard at Newhope Street, close to Peters Elementary School.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired. They spoke to a witness who reported seeing two males running away. Officers found several shell casings in the street.
The gunshot victim, an 18-year-old man, drove himself to a local hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
Police say the victim was driving in the area, an apartment neighborhood, when he was approached by two males. One of them brandished a firearm at the victim and ordered him out of the vehicle.
As the driver attempted to drive off, the suspect with the firearm fired several times at the victim, hitting him twice. The suspects are described as male Hispanics, ages 17 and 20, wearing dark clothing.
