Coronavirus cases near 50,000

NEW CORONAVIRUS cases in Orange County were reported Saturday at 251. (Flickr).

The total number of coronavirus cases in Orange County is approaching 50,000. According to Saturday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency, that sum is now at 49,509.

Two hundred fifty one COVID-19 cases were reported today, along with nine deaths. The total number of decedents to date is now 1,051.

Of the OC coronavirus cases to date, 43,224 are considered recovered.

Cases currently hospitalized are now at 274, with 83 now in intensive care units.

Here’s a list of the OC cities with the most cases, along with two other area cities. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 9,522 (250).
  • Anaheim: 8,489 (226).
  • Garden Grove: 2,700 (71).
  • Huntington Beach: 2,255 (69).
  • Orange: 2,252 (51).

Westminster has 938 cases and 24 deaths; Stanton has 611 cases and 12 deaths.
