Shooting victim declared dead

A MAN who suffered gunshot wounds in Santa Ana late Monday night was declared dead early Tuesday morning (Shutterstock).

A man who suffered gunshot wounds in an incident Monday night in Santa Ana died early Tuesday morning, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

The incident began around 11:25 p.m. Monday when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Bristol and Brook streets. Upon arrival they found an adult male down in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority responded, stabilized the man and he was taken to a local trauma center.

At 12:25 a.m. today (Tuesday), the victim was declared dead. A homicide investigation is underway. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the SAPD Homicide Section at (714) 245-8390.

The name of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
