President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus, it was announced Thursday night.
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Trump tweeted. The President and First Lady will remain at the White House during their period of isolation, which is typically for 14 days.Trump is 74 years old, which places him in a higher risk category, but according to the Associated Press, when last seen he appeared healthy.
There is speculation that the infection may have been transmitted from adviser Hope Hicks, who was in close contact with the President before she tested positive for the virus.
