Joe Biden will become the next president of the United States, as votes counted Saturday in Pennsylvania pushed him to an Electoral College victory over President Donald Trump.

With the slim win in the Keystone State, Biden has garnered from 273 to 290 electoral votes, depending on whether Arizona or Nevada are counted in the Democratic column. Trump has 214 votes. Two hundred seventy votes are needed.

Still uncalled are Georgia – where Biden leads but a recount is planned – and North Carolina, where Trump is ahead.

Kamala Harris will be the first woman to become vice president.

As of 9 a.m. Saturday, Biden had 74,487,517 votes (50.5 percent) to Trump’s 70,337,214 (47.7 percent).

CNN was the first TV network to declare that Biden was the president-elect, but was joined by the Associated Press and Fox, ABC, CBS and NBC.

Trump has not conceded, arguing that legal challenges may overturn the results of some of the close state races.
