Silverado fire is 100% “contained”

THE SILVERADO fire, started on Oct. 26, was declared 100 percent contained today (OCFA photo).

The Silverado Fire near Irvine has finally been deemed “100 percent contained” by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

That blaze, which started on Oct. 26, covered 12,444 acres and destroyed five structures, damaging nine others. There were two injuries. Personnel involved numbered 784 people.

BIGG webinar set for Nov. 12

An informational “webinar” on the City of Garden Grove’s shop local program, “Buy in Garden Grove” (BIGG) will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Local businesses interested in learning how to receive free promotion on the city’s website and social media are encouraged to register online  at www.ggcity.org/bigg for the seminar led by Mayor Steve Jones.

Free flu clinic in Westminster

The City of Westminster is hosting a free Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 9-11 a.m. at the Community Services parking lot, 8200 Westminster Blvd. (located off Westminster Boulevard on Jackson Street).

Flu shots will be given to individuals age 18 years+, there will be a pre-screening station, masks will be required, and individuals who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are asked to stay home.
