ORANGE COUNTY is showing a drop in new coronavirus cases but an increase in deaths in Thursday’s tally (Shutterstock).

The counts of new coronavirus cases and deaths in Orange County continued to show high numbers in Thursday’s report from the county health care agency.

According to the OCHCA, the latest daily tally in new COVID-19 infections fell to 582 from 628 on Wednesday, which is still a “worrying” tally of cases, according to health officials. Deaths rose from two to nine.

Hospitalizations increased from 291 to 304, but cases in intensive care units decreased from 90 to 83.

Here is a list of the Orange County cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

• Santa Ana: 12,830 (323)
• Anaheim: 11,438 (333)
• Garden Grove: 3,743 (112)
• Fullerton: 3,250 (109)
• Orange: 3,150 (72)
• Huntington Beach: 2,945 (87)

Westminster has 1,368 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 788 cases and 18 deaths.
