Bike-car crash has fatal end

A BICYCLIST died after a collision with an auto Monday evening in Fullerton (Shutterstock).

A collision of a car and a bicycle Monday evening in Fullerton took the life of a cyclist.

According to the Fullerton Police Department, the incident occurred at around 5:43 p.m. in the area of Bastanchury Road and Lancer Way. Arriving officers found a 33-year-old man with severe injuries. Officers and Fullerton Fire Department personnel began life-saving measures and the man was taken to a local trauma center where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the decedent was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The driver of the involved vehicle, a white Mercedes Benz sedan, remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Mercedes was southbound on Bastanchury when it collided with the bicyclist. Investigators don’t believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
