Park renovations are approved

PAVILION in Garden Grove Park (City of Garden Grove).

Renovations for the city’s largest park moved ahead at Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.

The council voted 6-0 – with Councilmember Phat Bui absent – to approve a contract with Land Forms Landscape Construction, Inc. worth $750,321 for work to be done at Garden Grove Park, 9301 Westminster Ave.

The work will include:

  • demolition of the large picnic pavilion and three small picnic shelters
  • construction of disabled-accessible sidewalks, slabs, new picnic pavilion, three new picnic shelters, benches, barbecue grills and electrical improvements to allow for additional security lighting.

The project is funded by federal Community Development Block Grants and citywide park fee funds. Estimated date of completion is June 2021.
