Second day of COVID-19 decline

Is this good news, or just a brief statistical blip?

Monday’s report of new coronavirus cases in Orange County showed a second consecutive day of decreases in infections. Monday’s total was 734 compared to 1,058 on Sunday, according to the county health care agency.

Deaths were again reported as zero.

Hospitalizations, on the other hand, continued to rise, reaching 605 after hitting 534 on Sunday. Cases of patients in intensive care units declined slightly to 146 from 148.

To date, Orange County has 78,553 coronavirus cases. Deaths to date are 1,577.

  • Santa Ana: 15,153 (331)
  • Anaheim: 13,168 (344)
  • Garden Grove: 4,505 (116)
  • Fullerton: 3,752 (113)
  • Orange: 3,738 (73)
  • Huntington Beach: 3,351 (89)

Westminster has 1,708 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 921 cases and 18 deaths.
