“Accidental” fire is put out

AN “ACCIDENTAL” fire in the 10600 block of Chapman Avenue in Garden Grove early Monday morning was knocked down by firefighters (OCFA image).

An “out” building in a residential area in Garden Grove caught fire in the pre-dawn hours of Monday and extended to nearby cypress trees, but firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority were able to keep the blaze from damaging three nearby homes.

According to the OCFA, which provides fire and paramedic services for Garden Grove, the blaze was reported at 4:58 a.m. in the 10600 block of Chapman Avenue, between Nutwood and Nelson streets.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
