Cases rise after two declines

SUNDAY’S COUNT of hospitalizations from coronavirus cases in Orange County rose, but deaths declined (Shutterstock).

New cases of coronavirus infections in Orange County rose in Sunday’s report after declining for two days in a row.

According to records of the county health care agency, the latest daily tally of COVID-19 cases was 3,200, compared to 2,757 on Saturday, 3,196 on Friday and 3,490 on Thursday.

There was just one death reported, a sharp drop from 22 on Saturday. The number of hospitalizations is at 1,990, with intensive care units used for coronavirus patients at 443.

  • Orange: 7,087 (91)
  • Fullerton: 6,691 (130)

  • Stanton: 1,871 (22).
