Intensive care unit use still high

The number of coronavirus cases in intensive care units in Orange County nearly hit a new high.

According to the latest report from the county health care agency – which covers Saturday through noon today (Monday) – 500 patients are in ICU’s due to COVID-19. That’s one less than the record of 501 set on Friday.

The latest tally of new cases is at 8,990 with deaths at 25. The cumulative number of coronavirus cases is now at 170,579. Hospitalized cases hit 2,178.

Here’s the list of the OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 32,077 (380)
  • Anaheim: 28,994 (414)
  • Garden Grove: 10,687 (134)
  • Orange: 8,216 (96)
  • Fullerton: 7,604 (133)
  • Huntington Beach: 6,826 (103).

Westminster has had 4,658 cases and 45 deaths. Stanton has had 2,171 cases and 23 deaths.
