A 22-year-old man was fatally injured in a traffic accident Monday night in Garden Grove.
According to Cpl. Paul Ashby of the GGPD, the crash took place around 10:18 p.m. on West Street south of Dunklee Lane. A blue Chevrolet Corvette was seen veering into the lanes of oncoming traffic, causing a broadside collision with a white Buick that was traveling northbound on West Street.
Orange County Fire Authority paramedics were also dispatched to the scene.
All those involved in the collision were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange because of the severity of the injuries. A passenger in the Corvette was later pronounced dead. No other passengers were injured.
The name of the decedent has not been released.
An investigation is underway to determine if drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call Traffic Investigator Ashby at (714) 741-5823.
