Slide in new cases continues

The count of new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Orange County continues to drop.

According to Sunday’s report from the county health care agency, the number of new cases was at 191, down from 281 on Saturday. Deaths rise from 12 to 13, but hospitalizations due to COVID-19 infections declined from 444 to 421. 

The use of intensive care units for coronavirus cases rose, however, from 128 to 132.

The cumulative total of county cases is now at 246,455, of which 230,971 are judged to have recovered. Deaths are at 3,917.

  • Santa Ana: 43,988 (696)
  • Anaheim: 40,893 (704)
  • Garden Grove: 16,104 (302)
  • Orange: 11,552 (204)
  • Fullerton: 11,032 (242)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,254 (181)

Westminster has had 6,922 cases and 154 deaths. Stanton has had 3,111 cases and 47 deaths.
