Three of four measurements of the coronavirus in Orange County showed declines for Sunday, suggesting a move to the less restrictive “orange” tier might be accomplished this coming week.
According to the county health care agency, the number of confirmed new cases was 119, higher that Saturday’s 94, but still lower than Friday’s 156.
Deaths declined from 27 to 14 and hospitalizations for COVID-19 slipped to 156 from 170. Patients being treated in intensive care units for the virus fell from 28 on Saturday to 25 on Sunday.
The to-date total of cases in the county is now at 250,308, of which 242,253 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,725.
