New case total still fluctuates

NEW CORONAVIRUS cases in Orange County rose on Wednesday (Shutterstock).

The number of confirmed new cases of coronvirus in Orange County continues to bounce up and down but remained moderate enough to remain in the new “orange” tier.

Wednesday’s tally saw cases rise from 106 to 146 cases, but deaths dropped from 14 to four. Hospitalizations from the coronavirus declined from 143 to 141. Patients being treated in intensive care units stayed even at 26.

The to-date total of coronavirus cases in the county is now at 250,683, of which 242,880 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,744.

  • Santa Ana: 44,557 (828)
  • Anaheim: 41,489 (830)
  • Garden Grove: 16,452 (373)
  • Orange: 11,754 (241)
  • Fullerton: 11,224 (287)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,518 (209)
  • Irvine: 10,379 (81)

Westminster has had 7,080 cases and 193 deaths. Stanton has had 3,146 (66).
