New case count takes a dive

NEW CASES of coronavirus in Orange County declined on Thursday after a rise on Wednesday (Shutterstock).

The number of new confirmed coronavirus cases showed an encouraging drop in Thursday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency.

According to the OCHCA, the total was 81, a steep drop from Wednesday’s tally of 146 and below Tuesday’s count of 106.

Deaths rose from four to 11, but hospitalizations from coronavirus declines from 141 to 131. Patients being treated for COVID-19 in intensive care units dropped from 26 to 22.

The cumulative total of cases is at 250,764, of which 243,032 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,755.

  • Santa Ana: 44,559 (830)
  • Anaheim: 41,505 (831)
  • Garden Grove: 16,454 (374)
  • Orange: 11,760 (241)
  • Fullerton: 11,233 (287)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,522 (210)
  • Irvine: 10,385 (81)

Westminster had had 7,081 cases and 194 deaths. Stanton has had 3,147 cases and 66 deaths.
