New cases take a sharp jump

ORANGE COUNTY stats for new cases of coronavirus rose on Sunday (Shutterstock).

For the first time in several days, confirmed new cases of coronavirus in Orange County rose sharply, according to Sunday’s report on the pandemic.

The county health care agency reports that the total rose from 74 on Saturday to 196 on Sunday. Deaths increased from five to eight.

On the other hand, hospitalizations declined from 125 to 124, and the number of COVID-19 patients being treated in intensive care units dropped from 33 to 25.

The to-date total of Orange County cases is now at 252,316, of which 244,521 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,839.

  • Anaheim: 41,680 (844)
  • Garden Grove: 16,531 (382)
  • Orange: 11,827 (247)
  • Fullerton: 11,320 (293)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,654 (210)
  • Irvine: 10,540 (83)

Westminster has had 7,141 cases and 200 deaths. Stanton hashed 3,157 cases and 66 deaths.
