
IN SANTA ANA Friday night, a woman died from injuries suffered on when she was struck by a car while trying to cross a street on foot in Santa Ana (Shutterstock).
A woman died after being struck by a car while crossing a street in Santa Ana Friday night.
According to the SAPD, the incident occurred around 7:47 p.m. in the 3600 block of West First Street. Arriving officers found the woman down in the roadway, having suffered major injuries. Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded and began to treat the woman.
She was taken to an area hospital for further medical care, but was pronounced deceased there.
A preliminary investigation indicated the woman was crossing First Street just west of Bewley Street when struck by a vehicle heading west on First Street. The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol doesn’t appear a factor, according to the SAPD.
