GG man was shooting victim

A GARDEN GROVE man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting in Anaheim last week (Shutterstock).

Anaheim Police Department homicide detectives have identified the deceased victim from a shooting last week, as 25-year-old Abel Saldana, of Garden Grove.

On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at about 7:40 p.m., APD officers responded to the area of Catalpa Avenue and Euclid Street regarding a call of shots heard. Officers arrived on scene and located evidence of a shooting. Moments later, officers were notified of a male shooting victim located in a vehicle parked in the area of Pampas Lane and Euclid Street, south of the shooting location. Officers arriving to that scene located Saldana, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Saldana was transported to a local area hospital where he died from the injuries he sustained.

APD detectives believe there are witnesses to Saldana’s shooting who have not yet been contacted by police. Detectives are asking those witnesses, or anyone with information on the shooting death of Abel Saldana to call the Anaheim Police Department at (714) 321-3669 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
