
ORANGE COUNTY Fire Authority firefighters knocked down a blaze at a self-service laundry firm in Garden Grove in under five minutes (OCFA photo).
Fast and furious was the way that firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority handled a blaze Monday afternoon in Garden Grove.
According to the OCFA, the fire was in a retail center in the 13500 block of Harbor Boulevard (near Trask Avenue) at around 1:45 p.m. they knocked down the blaze in a self-service laundry business in less than five minutes.
That quick work not only prevented the fire’s spread to adjacent businesses, but also allowed the laundry firm to remain open. The OCFA provides fire and paramedic service to Garden Grove, Stanton, and Westminster in the west county area.
WPD seizes cache of illegal fireworks
One hundred and four pounds of illegal fireworks have been seized by Westminster Police Department officers.
According to the WPD, the cache was at a residence on the “west side of the city.”
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s bomb squad took possession of the devices. Two people were arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for felony possession of illegal fireworks.
